Who is Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Dallas?
Big Brothers Big Sisters has the bold belief that one positive relationship for every child can transform a community. We are the Gold Standard of mentoring. For over 117 years nationally and 95 years in Dallas, Big Brothers Big Sisters has established industry-leading best practices based in research and evidence-based outcomes that empower the emotional well-being, social capital, and educational achievement of youth.
Through strong, safe, professionally-supported mentoring relationships, BBBS empowers children with a holistic approach: Emotional wellbeing combined with social capital will result in educational achievement. Emotional Wellbeing is the ability to persist, adapt, and feel worthy. Social Capital is access. BBBS acts as a bridge by connecting youth to people with the right resources and connections to build an unhindered vision. If you can see it, you can be it. When a child believes they are worthy they build resilience, and work towards a goal. They are more likely to avoid risky behaviors and achieve academic success.
