Ashley Siegert

Vacanva Founder

A lifetime manic entrepreneur, Ashley began her portrait studio, Fig-Mint Photography in 2011 and commercial photography brand A. Diamond Productions in 2015. During a family vacation to the beach in 2017, the idea for Vacanva started after trying to book a family photographer from another state. After speaking with others who struggled to have a quality experience documenting their family vacations, the skeleton for Vacanva began to unfold. Now here in 2020, the stars have aligned and away we go! Ashley is a certified professional photographer and photographic craftsman from the professional photographers of America.

Carla Ponder

Director of Marketing & Fundraising

Carla heard about Vacanva from a mutual friend of hers and Ashley's. It was then, when Ashley explained the idea of Vacanva, and Carla loved what it meant for families. Being a mom of two and an genealogy junkie, she understands the value and importance of capturing the fleeting moments in family life and what it means for future generations. After graduating from Texas A&M University, Carla worked in physician marketing at Children's Health in Dallas, and has a strong customer service and conflict resolution background. When she moved back to College Station from DFW, she was looking for a workplace that valued work-life balance, empowered women, and creativity- Vacanva and Ashley embody these ideals.

Jessica Lemmons

Copywriter, copysparkle.com

Jessica Lemmons is a local copywriter who bonded with Ashley over a mutual love for physical fitness, and eating cheesecake for lunch. When she met Ashley for the first time, she was 41.5 weeks pregnant with her oldest child and was sobbing. Ashley didn't judge, and thus a friendship was born. When Jessica found out that Ashley was starting a new facet of her thriving photography business, she said "DIBS ON WRITING YOUR CONTENT" and Ashley said "...Jess, how much coffee have you had today?". It's fine. She hired her anyway.

Kate VanMersbergen

Connection Director- Dallas

Kate grew up in the DFW area since she was 2 yrs old. She came into photography through the influence of her father who was a land and city scape hobbyist photographer. Yet her overall creativity, she says, is a direct result from her mother who regularly exposed her to the arts throughout her childhood anywhere from music to theatre, acrylic painting to sculpture, and everywhere in between. After receiving her first “big kid” camera, she played with photographing using all types of subjects to find which one she could connect with the most. It was a few months later as she was snapping moments of her son playing in the sprinklers on a hot summer day when she knew she found her favorite style of art. From then on she set out to become a photographer who gave people a moment from their story to hold onto and give to their loved ones to cherish.
